Children goes through different milestones as they grow:
A new born child only need is comfort and satisfaction. Any discomfort and pain may interrupt the peace
2-5 years, will require attention in addition of comfort. They may throw tantrums if their needs are not met. They are talkative and very inquisitive – Parents are encouraged to listen to them and answer all questions in truth. Their mind is like a sponge and will absorb everything they hear and see. Always be a good model and be the first to demonstrate how they should behave.
6-10 In between being independent and inquisitive. Responsive when promoted. Parents are encouraged to create time for them. Watch their stuff and know the company they are keeping. Ensure they are occupied to deter idle mind. Listen to them and try to understand the unspoken. Get to know what they know and guide them where they have the wrong information. Affirm them with a lot of love
11-13 In between being independent and inquisitive. Responsive when promoted. Parents are encouraged to create time for them. Watch their stuff and know the company they are keeping. 14-19 A bit quiet but talkative in the company of friends and peers. Gets validation from peers. easily offended and hard to guess their likes and dislikes. Create time for them whenever an opportunity arises. Affirm them where need arises. invest in their hobbies and interest as long as they conform with your values. Keep them occupied to discourage idle mind. Teach and allow them to practice life skills. Occasionally allow them to shop for their own personal items and households
20-25 Young adult. Learnt a lot and settling down as individual. Pursuing dreams. Give guidance where need be. Create time for them and get to know how they are fairing and how you can support. Allow them to make decision but always offer guidance. Where disagreements occur, give each other time to find a solution. Encourage them to be independent and if living with them allow them to make some decisions in the family, like what to eat, where to shop and what to watch. Know their friends.
